  • Generals Name Wills New Field Hockey Head Coach

    Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced the appointment of Gina Wills as head field hockey coach and associate professor of physical education effective June 1. Wills comes to W&L from DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., where she served as the head field hockey coach for the last eight years.
  • ODAC Fall Sportsmanship Teams Announced

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2014-15 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in each of the fall sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the sixth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship. Seventy-five athletes were honored this season.
  • Bridgewater's Augsburger Leads ODAC NFHCA Honorees

    Bridgewater College midfielder Caroline Augsburger earned a spot on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-America Second Team, becoming just first Eagle field hockey to earn such a recognition. She's the program's fifth all-time All-American and the lone athlete on the list from the ODAC this season. She is one of five to receive NFHCA All-South Region honors.
  • BC's Augsburger, Kenyon Highlight ODAC Field Hockey Awards

    Bridgewater College received a pair of special honors as part of the All-ODAC Field Hockey Awards. Eagles' midfielder Caroline Augsburger was tabbed the ODAC Player of the Year, while BC mentor Allyson Kenyon earned ODAC Coach of the Year laurels. Shenandoah University goalkeeper Jenna Rampale garnered ODAC Rookie of the Year honors, while Virginia Wesleyan College defender Tanya Puccio was recognized as the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Scholar-Athlete.
  • Centre Defeats Lynchburg in NCAA Field Hockey First Round

    Cole Jordan scored the game winner eight minutes into overtime to lift Centre College to a 2-1 victory over Lynchburg College Wednesday in the first round of the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament on Shellenberger Field.
  • Lynchburg Enters NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament

    There was no question that Lynchburg College would be in the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament, but location was a mystery. That answer was provided on Sunday evening as the Hornets were selected to host a first round contest. Centre College will make the trip to the Hill City for a showdown with the Hornets on Wednesday.
  • Lynchburg Tops Bridgewater for Ninth-Straight ODAC Field Hockey Title

    Top-seeded Lynchburg College earned its ninth-straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) title Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Bridgewater College in the finals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Field Hockey Tournament.

  • ODAC Field Hockey Tournament Pairings Set

    Lynchburg College earned the top spot in the 2014 ODAC Field Hockey Tournament in the sport’s six-team format for the sixth-consecutive year after winning each of its eight league contests. Bridgewater College lost just once throughout the ODAC regular season, which affords the Eagles the second seed and a quarterfinal bye with LC into the semifinals.

  • Lynchburg Tops ODAC Field Hockey Preseason Poll

    Lynchburg College collected eight first place votes and 64 total points to lead the 2014 ODAC Field Hockey preseason poll. Randolph-Macon College picked up 55 tallies, including the remaining top consideration. Bridgewater College edged out Shenandoah University by one point with 45 markers to take the third position.
