  • TREVOR IKWILD, Hampden-Sydney, Senior, Linebacker
    November 14, 2010
    Ikwild, a senior from Philomont, Va., led the Tigers with a game-high 12 tackles. His seven assisted stops were also a game-high. Ikwild help hold Randolph-Macon's top-rated scoring offense in the ODAC (43.1 ppg going into the contest) to 28 points while making key stops to help the Tigers win. Ikwild's play of the game, however, came in the third quarter when he intercepted an R-MC pass with H-SC leading 21-14. Ikwild stopped a Yellow Jackets’ drive with an interception on the Hampden-Sydney 39-yard line. He then returned it 35 yards to the Randolph-Macon 26-yard line. With the field position, the Tigers were able to punch it into the end zone and make it a two-possession game.
  • HAGAN DRISKELL, Bridgewater, Senior, Quarterback

    Driskell, a senior from Ruther Glen, Va., saved his best for last in the 2010 regular season finale against Catholic. Driskell was 20-of-23 for 274 yards and four touchdowns. Driskell completed 17 straight passes along the way, setting a Bridgewater school record for consecutive completions and a career-high with four touchdown passes. The senior trigger man also scored from one-yard out on a quarterback keeper, accounting for all five Eagles touchdowns on the day. Driskell and favored receiver Tyler Beiler connected on three passing scores, giving the duo 16 for the season. Driskell also connected with Nick Wimer to open the game’s scoring.
  • MIKE HARTFORD, Washington and Lee, Junior, Cornerback

    Hartford, a junior from Pittsburgh, Pa., helped lead Washington and Lee to the ODAC title against Hampden-Sydney by spearheading a defensive effort that included five turnovers and five sacks. Hartford notched six tackles (5 solo) and a pair of interceptions in a 38-27 win over the Tigers. Both takeaways were in the second half and well inside W&L’s defensive half of the field. The latter pick came at the Generals’ one-yard line as the Tigers tried to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter. For the year, Hartford has 35 tackles, six pass breakups and three interceptions.
  • TYLER BEILER, Bridgewater College, Senior, Wide Receiver

    Beiler, a senior from Ronks, Pa., earns his second weekly award of the season. Beiler set the single-season and single-game receiving records for Bridgewater with eight catches for 218 yards and two scores in Bridgewater's 31-26 victory over Randolph-Macon. Beiler's 218 yards surpassed the previous record held by Beiler and Marcus Richardson of 217 yards. Beiler's effort also gives him 1,217 yards on the season, which now leads the ODAC and is the new single-season receiving standard for the Eagles. The Ronks, Pa. native had 201 yards in the first half alone, with touchdown receptions of 70 and 78 yards in the process.

    Pelton, a sophomore from Charlottesville, Va., picks up his third weekly award of the season. Pelton helped Washington and Lee to a 49-14 win against Catholic on Friday by totaling a team-high 11 tackles, including nine solo stops, and intercepting a pair of passes. Pelton's first interception occurred at the CUA 1-yardline late in the second quarter with the score 21-7. The Generals would score on the ensuing offensive possession to make it a three possession game entering the second half. For the season, Pelton is second on the team with 64 tackles and he has posted five interceptions, tops in the ODAC.
  • OFFENSIVE LINE, Washington and Lee

    The Washington and Lee offensive line led the way to a record-breaking performance in the Generals' 49-14 win over Catholic on Friday evening. The Generals amassed 604 yards of total offense and held the ball for better than 41 of the game's 60 minutes. Additionally, W&L set a new ODAC record for rushing yards in a game with 496 yards (previous, 483 yds by E&H in 1998) and had three running backs eclipse the 100-yard barrier in the contest. Six W&L rushers had at least 30 yards on the ground. The Generals scored five touchdowns via the ground. Saturday’s effort also provided the stage for breaking several ODAC season records, including season rushing yards (3,008) and season rushing touchdowns (33) with two games remaining in the regular season. The previous records were 2,740 yards (E&H in 1986) and 32 touchdowns (H-SC in 1991 and 2003).
  • BRANDON HARRISON, Randolph-Macon, Sophomore, Cornerback

    Harrison, a sophomore from Forest, Va., helped lead a Randolph-Macon defense that forced five turnovers and limited Guilford to just 208 yards of total offense. Harrison intercepted a pair of passes and returned his first pick 12 yards for a touchdown as part of the Yellow Jackets 35-point first half. His second interception setup an R-MC touchdown. Harrison added four tackles and two more passes defended to his stat line. Harrison now has a team-high three interceptions, good for a tie for third in the ODAC. He leads the conference with 64 interception return yards, and is second with nine passes broken up.
  • HARRISON HUDSON, Washington and Lee, Junior, Running Back

    Hudson, a junior from Salem, Va., paced the Generals’ rushing attack in W&L’s 35-34 win at Bridgewater. Hudson carried the ball 18 times for a career-high 204 yards has he led a ground game that churned out more than 400 yards for the fourth straight game. Hudson, who averaged 11.3 yards per carry, gashed Bridgewater with eight runs of 10 yards or more, including a 27-yard burst in the first quarter and a 58-yard jaunt on his final carry of the game. Hudson’s effort, part of a 438-yard game for W&L, gives him 548 yards on just 62 carries for the season, good for an 8.8 yards per carry average. Washington and Lee has crossed the 400-yard rushing barrier in each of its five wins this season, and now owns five the ODAC’s top all-time team rushing days. The 438 yards against Bridgewater are sixth-best in conference history.

    Pelton, a sophomore from Charlottesville, Va., picks up his second weekly award of the season. Pelton helped Washington and Lee to a 42-28 victory over Randolph-Macon on Saturday by posting a team-best 11 tackles and one interception. With the Generals leading 28-14 and 33 seconds remaining in the first half, Pelton recorded his interception in the end zone to preserve W&L's two touchdown lead heading into the break. For the season, Pelton has recorded 46 tackles and three interceptions. He is second on the team in tackles. He leads the Generals and is third in the ODAC with the three picks.
  • DARRIN McKENZIE, Bridgewater College, Senior, Running Back

    McKenzie, a senior from Rustburg, Va., put together the 15th-best single-game rushing performance for the Eagles on Saturday as he ran for 219 yards and a pair of scores in Bridgewater’s 56-27 win over Guilford College. McKenzie's output was the highest for a Bridgewater tailback since Davon Cruz's 228-yard performance in the 2000 playoffs against Washington and Jefferson. It was also the second-highest total from an ODAC rusher this season. For the year, McKenzie is fourth in the conference with 581 rushing yards on just 69 carries, good for an 8.4 yards-per-carry average.
  • THOMAS McDONALD, Hampden-Sydney, Senior, Safety

    McDonald, a senior from Chesterfield, Va., made two of three big plays that helped lead to and secure Hampden-Sydney’s come-from-behind victory at Bridgewater on Saturday. Down 17-10 in the third quarter, an Eagles’ snap from center went over the quarterback’s head and bounded amongst players backwards for nearly 30 yards before McDonald pounced on it at the BC 12-yard line. One play later, H-SC tied the game with a 12-yard touchdown run. Later in the game on Bridgewater’s final drive, McDonald sacked the quarterback on third down, forcing a long fourth down attempt that failed and returned the ball to the Tigers, who promptly ran out the clock. For the game, McDonald recorded five tackles including a pair of TFL’s and one sack, recovered a fumble, and recorded one pass defended.
  • BRETT MURRAY, Washington and Lee, Sophomore, Running Back

    Murray, a sophomore from Lookout Mountain, Tenn., helped lead Washington and Lee to a 45-24 win over Emory & Henry on Saturday by totaling 225 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns. Murray carried the ball 10 times for a career-high 121 yards and two touchdowns and caught two passes for 22 yards and another touchdown. His first scoring run went for 52 yards in the second quarter, giving W&L a lead it would not relinquish. His 17-yard touchdown reception in the in the third quarter capped a run of 31 unanswered points for the Generals. He finished the game's scoring with a six-yard scoring run. He also notched 82 yards on kickoff returns. For the season, Murray has notched 698 all-purpose yards and a team-leading eight touchdowns. He has scored two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown in each of the past two games.

    Pelton, a sophomore from Charlottesville, Va., helped lead the Generals to a win in their ODAC opener against Guilford. Pelton played a part in two Guilford turnovers, one in each half of the Generals 55-29 victory. The second year safety finished the day with eight tackles, one interception that he returned 20 yards, and one fumble recovery. In all, the W&L defense forced five Quaker turnovers on the day. For the season, Pelton ranks second on the team with 27 tackles, has one interception and 0.5 sacks.
  • LUKE HEINSOHN, Washington and Lee, Sophomore, Running Back

    Heinsohn, a sophomore from Charlottesville, Va., helped lead Washington and Lee to its most points scored in 48 years as the Generals defeated Guilford, 55-29, on Saturday afternoon. The sophomore running back from Charlottesville carried the ball 20 times for 223 yards and one touchdown as W&L posted the third-highest rushing total in ODAC history, amassing 463 yards on the ground. Heinsohn averaged 11.1 yards per carry in posting the fourth-highest rushing total in school history. For the season, Heinsohn has amassed 530 yards and three touchdowns on just 61 carries (8.7 average).
  • STEPHEN HOWARD, Bridgewater College, Junior, Defensive End

    Howard, a junior from Afton, Va., turned in an outstanding performance in Saturday's 35-24 victory over Ferrum. Howard recorded two sacks, to go along three tackles for a loss in the win. His efforts behind the line cost Ferrum 24 yards in total offense. Howard’s two sacks set the Panthers back 20 yards. He finished the day with four total stops. Howard's defensive prowess aided the Eagles in holding Ferrum's triple option rushing attack to just 66 yards on the day, marking the first time in nearly eight years that the Panthers were held to under 100 yards on the ground.
  • TYLER BEILER, Bridgewater College, Senior, Wide Receiver

    Beiler, a senior from Lancaster, Pa., turned in a 212-yard performance on the receiving end to break the career receiving yardage record, formerly held by Marcus Richardson. Beiler now has 2,051 yards in his career, becoming just the second BC receiver to cross the 2,000-yard barrier. Beiler's 212-yard performance was the second time against the Panthers that he has posted a 200-yard game. The senior hauled in seven catches, with three of the receptions being for a touchdown. His touchdown catches covered 57, 58 and 38 yards with the latter score eventually supplying the game-deciding margin. His seven receptions puts him in third place all-time with 107 career catches, while his three touchdowns moves him into a tie for third on career receiving touchdowns list. On the day, Beiler posted 304 all-purpose yards, including 34 yards of punt returns and 54 yards of kickoff returns.

    Woods, a junior from Bristol, Va., helped the Wasps knock-off traditional NAIA offensive power, UVA-Wise, with a pair of interceptions in Emory & Henry’s 20-10 victory. Both takeaways came in the second half as Wise attempted to claw back into the game. Woods second interception came in the end zone on Wise’s last drive of the game, securing the victory for E&H. Woods also added five tackles including a tackle for a loss. The E&H defense intercepted their opponent three times on the day.
  • AUSTIN FAULKNER, Randolph-Macon College, Senior, Quarterback

    Faulkner, a senior from Fredericksburg, Va., led Randolph-Macon to its third straight victory by throwing five touchdowns passing without an interception in the Yellow Jackets 42-14 win over Shenandoah University. Faulkner completed 25-of-32 passes (78.1%) for 267 yards, and guided the R-MC offense through 40:15 of possession. He connected with five receivers and threw a pair of touchdowns each to Earl Peoples and Dan Crouch. He also hit Zack Midulla on a score. Faulkner and Peoples continue to put up impressive numbers together as the senior duo hooked up for 17 receptions covering 170 yards. Faulkner currently leads the ODAC in all major passing categories including passer rating (181.9), yards (822), yards per game (274.0), touchdowns (11), completions (66) and completion percentage (66-of-92, 71.7%).

    Littles, a senior from Norfolk, Va., provided the Eagles with the game-deciding score from the other side of the ball in BC’s 38-31 win over Shenandoah. With just over two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Littles intercepted a pass and returned it 35 yards to give BC a 38-24 lead. Shenandoah scored what would have been the game-tyingtouchdown exactly 1:00 later. Littles, whose interception was one of three by the BC defensive unit, also tied for the team high with nine tackles (three solo).
  • GREG CORDIVARI, Catholic University, Sophomore, Quarterback

    Cordivari, sophomore from Downingtown, Pa., led Catholic to a 42-32 victory over Apprentice School by setting personal career-high passing marks in several categories. Cordivari completed 21-of-27 passes (77.8%) for 304 yards and five touchdowns without an interception. He set career-bests in completions, yardarge, touchdowns and longest pass with a 59-yard strike to Alonzo Cooke. Cordivari and Cooke also connected on 31-yard and 7-yard scoring plays. Mike Smith and Michael Pitsenberger also caught touchdown passes and were among eight Cardinals with at least one catch.

    Jeter, a junior from Yorktown, Va., proved to be a disrupting force for the Eagles defense in their 19-14 win over St. Vincnet College. Jeter recorded six tackles from his defensive end post, including 3.5 tackles for a loss. He was a thorn in the SVC quarterback’s side as he recorded 3.0 of the Eagles 4.0 quarterback sacks. He cost SVC 16 yards of offense. His efforts helped the BC defense hold St. Vincent to 239 total yards and a 3.7 yards per play average.
  • CALEB JENNINGS, Emory & Henry College, Senior, Running Back

    Jennings, a senior from Cedar Bluff, Va., picked up in 2010 where he left off in 2009. The reigning ODAC Offensive Player of they ripped off 176 yards on the ground in the second half on the way to a 213 yard rushing day to lead the Wasps to a 23-17 double-overtime win at Ferrum. Jennings ran for three touchdowns, all coming after the halftime intermission. Two of his scores came in extra time, including the game winner in which he picked up a fumble by the quarterback and darted for the endzone. Early in the fourth quarter, Jennings broke off a 71-yard run to the Ferrum 5-yard line to set up the first of his three scoring runs. His efforts moved Jennings into 5th on the E&H all-time rushing list with 2,819 career yards.
