  • Washington and Lee Falls to Williams in NCAA Third Round Play

    The 32nd-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team saw its season come to an end with a 5-0 loss to 10th-ranked Williams in the third round of the NCAA Tournament held at the Ensworth School in Nashville, Tenn., on Sunday afternoon.

    The 32nd-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team defeated Rose-Hulman by a score of 5-1 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament held at the Ensworth School in Nashville, Tenn., on Saturday morning.
  • ODAC Announces All-ODAC Men's Tennis Awards

    Virginia Wesleyan University and Washington and Lee University each earned six all-conference awards with the Marlins and Bridgewater College garnering two special individual honors each to headline the 2021 All-ODAC Men's Tennis Awards. Bridgewater junior Canon Secord collected ODAC Player of the Year laurels, while teammate and classmate Matthew Gordon received ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year recognition from the conference's athletic communications personnel. Virginia Wesleyan mentor Marty Perry was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year by his peers, while fellow Marlins Felix Bevc was named ODAC Rookie of the Year.
  • Generals on the Road for Early NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament Play

    Washington and Lee University, which won its 11th straight and conference-record 39th ODAC title on Sunday afternoon, learned its position in the upcoming NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Team Championship on Monday. The Generals will travel for early round play in the 37-team field.

    A season without Washington and Lee University standing atop the ODAC men's tennis podium had happened just five times since the conference's founding in 1976-77. While last season marked the six such occasion due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Generals are poised for a second run at their 38th overall league title as they enter as the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Men's Tennis Tournament.

  • ODAC Men's Tennis Poll | Generals Maintain No. 1 Conference Ranking

    ODAC men's tennis was just heating up when play was paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March. Teams had excelled at the regional events and other invitationals in the fall, lending to considerable anticipation towards the spring season. Several strong returning players are joined by a solid group of newcomers entering spring 2021. The conference's coaches tried their hand at benchmarking that talent with the 2021 ODAC Men's Tennis Preseason Poll. Washington and Lee University takes up familiar position at the top of the poll having collected 121 points including 11 first place votes. Guilford College holds the second position by one point over Virginia Wesleyan University. The Quakers earned the remaining first place vote on the way to 101 markers, while the Marlins earned 100 tallies. Hampden-Sydney College and Randolph-Macon College round out the top-five with 86 and 78 points, respectively.
  • Wilkes Tabbed to Lead Roanoke Tennis Programs

    Roanoke College Director of Athletics Scott Allison is pleased to announce the hiring of Chris Wilkes to lead the Maroon's tennis program. Wilkes will take over the helm of the men's and women's tennis teams starting December 1st.
